Default AF-S VR 24-120mm Name list

Hi all,

Would like to start a name list thread on AF-S VR 24-120mm. Owner of this lens please state your pros and cons. Also for those who own this lens b4, please state the reason why sold off this lens. thanks... hope this thread helps those bros who are going to buy this lens.

Pro - Good walk-about range, great image quality (except when wide open), well-balanced, VR works like a charm.

Any1 tried this lense with a TC?? Or is it compatible at all with TC??

TC-14= 34-168mm <--- very good range
TC-17= 41-204mm <--- solid for portrait
TC 20= 48-240mm <--- portrait and sports

drool............................................. sam when can you shoot like that??? i think i have to get my 70-200 soon......the itch is getting stronger everyday... can't sleep, can't eat...call you guys up but all you guys tell me is to BUY BUY BUY........HELP!!!!!! Please dun tell me to BUY BUY BUY.....

Nope, 24-120VR cannot be used on TCs

The ranges are pretty good if it's possible, but you forgot

1.4X + f/3.5-5.6 -> f/4.5-8
1.7X + f/3.5-5.6 -> f/5-10
2X + f/3.5-5.6 -> f/6.3-11

How to focus at f/8-11?

dude... buy now and buy later still the same. Just that buy now get to enjoy earlier and thus less sleepless night and less unproductive office hours surfing ken rockwell's and other sites

Cons - Too slow... if only this is constant 2.8 or something....

I used it with the kenko 1.4x last time to shoot butterflies. Stepped down to f11, its pretty decent.

Default Power of VR!!

I have posted this pics in another thread but seems like not much comments there... so here goes again...Both pics taken hand held without flash at night at my void deck. Exposure 1/2.5sec 78mm at F7.1. Both taken with my D70 and only resized by capture.

Pro - good range for walkabout, swm and vr. yup! cheapest nikon lens with vr and swm.
Cons - would be better with f2.8 thru out and yet still maintain at this price.

NO..... not the 28-70!!!! POISON!! hahah

someone here dun like me lar... took me out of the list of owners...

I also said the lack of fast speed... if 2.8 through out then this lens would be PERFECT!!!
