Default Colour on Epson 4870 and my laptop

Hi,

Just got the Epson 4870 scanner and hooked it up to scan on my laptop. When I scanned the velvia slides, the colours on my screen came out less brilliant than the velvia on the lightbox. Can anybody help me here? Is it because of my colour profile? Or is there something else i missed.

Would really appreciate it if you could help me urgently!

regards,
Nick

One of the workflow after scanning, besides curve and levels, is to increase the saturation....esp so when using consumer scanners.

After doing all that it still doesn't work that well.. My velvia slides just don't start off looking something like velvia slides... The scans are dull and plain looking... Using curves and levels and saturation helps, but I cannot get the same results no matter how I try...
