First inter-racial harmony photo competition launched
The Northeast Community Development Council is calling on Singapore residents to take part in the first Inter-Racial Harmony Photo competition.
At its launch on Friday morning, some students from East View Secondary were already busy capturing shots of a prayer session at a Hindu temple.
The competition is open to people of all ages and races.
But participants must capture a subject that is not from their own race.
And they would have to get permission from the subject to be photographed.
This way, they can develop an understanding and rapport with members from the different race at the same time.
Entries have to be submitted by September 6, and cash prizes and cameras are in store for winning participants.
