Default Sigma 105mm f2.8 EX Macro with 7D

Hi Guyz,

Anyone using Sigma 105mm f2.8 EX Macro togather with D7 ? Good ? I may get this one for my marco shooting..Any feedback for this len ?

Another thing I saw a notice in Sigma website,

An image sensor element larger than those corresponding to APS-C cannot be used in digital cameras or 35mm SLR cameras. If such an element is used vignetting will occur on the picture surface.

So is 7D affected by this ? Any advise ? Thankz

A good macro lens. May consider Tamron 90 as well. Does it has "DG" version?

I think you're refering to those DC (APS) lenses. 105 macro is a full frame lens, not a APS lens.

Minolta mount hasn't released yet, although announced. Also, no one can confirm whether AS will work properly with DC lens.

12-24 = 18-36, 15-30 = 22.5 - 45..

Depends on you needs lor.. Is 22.5mm sufficient for you? Or you are a landscape shooter which required 18mm onwards..

For my case, the 15-30 is a easier walk around lens to me.

Also mean that if you get a set that has all the issues that users of it has been complaining, there's little you can do.

Cheer!

So far I've not read any problem on this lens with Minolta but Canon.

I've got the Tamron 90mm Macro DI but nikon mount. Its a wonderful lens and should be just as wonderful for Minolta as for Nikon... Supremely sharp, good contrast and flare resistant... I think for its price, it is the best value for money. If I am not wrong, you can get a better price than $599 you got quoted because I got mine cheaper than that.
