Default At the Asian Games Show...... (taken with Sigma 18-125)

Chanced upon the Asian Games Show and took the opportunity to test a newly bought lens (18-125) and snap some pics of the models and cosplayers.

It was a pretty crowded event which showcase mainly console and card games. Singers are invited too:

anyone knows who they are? Pic is blur cos I was tiptoeing to get a better view.

There are many photographers there....

One of the most popular models there:

I didn't have time to take in more cosplayers. there are literally hundreds of them around and lots of suitcases for their clothes and equipment!!!!

find the lens alright. the wide range is fun to use. it's quite sharp wide open and focussing is not too slow (slower and noiser than the 24-85) on the 20D. had some dolphin show shots at the Ocean Park too which tested the AF and shots of eagles (at Ocean Park again) which kind of tested the resolution (the eagles are very high up in the sky; regretted not bringing my 200f2.8L with teles ).

ISO800, f7.1, 1/160s The bokeh looks quite good.

Thanks you could get one too! I wonder how the Tamron 18-200 will stack up against this. That has a even better range.

Excellant lens! Its built like the Bigma... so this will be thus named Smallma.About the same size as the EF-S 18-55 but with a whooping 125mm at the tele end. Its like a 7x zoom compared to the bigma's 10x.

The AF motor is a little buzzy like the EF 35mm but quite fast. Nice colors. Overall a nice little lens.

I like the owl bokeh... can't wait to field test this nice lens when I have the chance.... maybe this weekend??

So you are in HK! Shoot more and share the pics. With 18mm, do shoot the nightlife and street stuff.

lol i rather save up and stick to my 17-40 first, so far it still serve all my purpose and i'm saving up for 70-200 IS. honestly, 18-125 is really a great lens for travel, *envy envy*

so mpenza going cosplay for coming sunday? maybe can borrow n try out

nah, dun think I'm going for it. hope you have fun

I've no budget for top-end wide-angle lenses 17-40F4L is a really good lens; no need to "downgrade" to the 18-125
