Thanks. Saw your post at the D400 thread. BTW, do you experienced the AF issue?

Spoke to Nikon rep at SAM. He said they have tested on 3 separate bodies using the same lens as in DPReview ad cannot replicate the problem. They think that was an isolated instance of manufacturing defect or early manufacturing problems.

Sorry abt my signature. I ordered a D800, but it wasn't delivered in the end. Like many others here, I'm waiting in line for my copy to arrive in shops to purchase...

haha guess what? I don't shoot raw
I try to get things right the first time, at most tweak colour balance or d-lighting in camera. So many new editing functions in the D800 now i can straighten a pic instead of deleting too. And i haven't shot 36mp yet because i haven't had a chance to shoot macro. In short, everything i have in my computer (and thus on my flickr) is SOOC.

My computers are 5 and 8 years old. They move 20mp jpeg files like a snail, viewing is okay though. Sorry if i couldn't answer your question!

For those who like to peek at the details of what a DSLR can produce, I think Bangkok temples seem like a great place to shoot. You can zoom into the ornamental details on the Pagodas. Here are some of the shots.

If talk about in Raw files for 75Mb.

The solution to open as fast, should go to SSD harddisk or just grab the MacBook Air of 128 or 256mb with using the NX capture to loading for Raw there is quite fast for few edits and save to Jpeg format.

Alternative - Load up your system with 64GB of Ram and run RAMdis -
Install Lightroom or Photoshop on it and be amazed at speeds greater than SSDs...
This is for editing the RAW files

Sorry I think my system only support up to 4GB of Ram ha ha.

But the lightroom & Photoshop will not appeal the original Raw files color output.

BTW my Mac air 13" only 4gb Ram & 128gb SSD and load the 22MB of 16mp Raw is quite fast of load up.
Once it done and transfer to external SSD harddisk for keep as copy.

Yap I'm using the Nikon NX capture.

How about the bigger 95mb file ?
How is the performance when editing the RAWs in Lightroom?

He he sorry I haven't received my d800 yet.
    So unknow right now.

BTW the Lightroom & Photoshop will take time to convert raw files into open files and the color will be changed.
