Default Underwater Camera Rental??

Is there anywhere in singapore I can rent an underwater camera...just a simple camera will do.....

Or is there anywhere i can get a simple underwater camera where i can play with ISO speeds, Apertures, Shutter speed That sort of thing...could be a point and shoot camera with the above functions....dont have to be very advance ones...

I just need a underwater camera for a Project and will only use it once...am shooting in a Pool....

regarding this, when it comes to u/w camera, frankly, not many ppl are willing to lend, as there is a tendency to flood if not properly used or taken care of.

You can try, but chances are slim unless there is a kind soul out there.
gd luck!

I am actually am thinking of using the camera in my pool not in the sea of anything like that....I am a Fashion photography student and would like to do a piece underwater...nothing complicating.....

I dont mind geting a point and shoot kind of u/w camera as long as not too expensive...But i would rather rent if possible because i would like to play with the settings abit..

I'm sorry to say that once you take pictures underwater, there are inherently more things to consider, and "nothing complicated" just does not apply. Doesn't matter that it is only just in a pool. In fact there is a greater risk of flooding in shallow than deep water....

There have been other threads in CS about lending equipment, and the general consensus is that it is not a good idea, even more so in a higher-risk environment like in the water. If something goes wrong, it becomes a matter of "your fault-my fault", and it can be difficult, sometimes impossible, to figure out who should be blamed and take responsibility if something screws up.

While the CS U/W forumers are by and large a very helpful bunch (honestly!) , the risks are too great. Like siaoon suggested, your best bet would be to see if anyone can help in terms of "lending camera w/ photographer".

Hi Harbour

your subjects hv to be real interesting if u want to entice us. Someone tried to organise an underwater model shoot but we couldn't decide on the suit the model ought to be wearing

Once we decide on the suit(s), we couldn't find the model.

Perhaps u can try Sea & Sea (andrew) @ Adelphi.

But frankly, how much do u reckon rental should be for a basic $1000 setup? A $300 X-Drive Pro is rented out at $15-20 per day so u prob looking at $50-100 per day for basic digital camera setup.

good luck. With X'mas round the corner, there may be some who are willing to indulge in this season of giving and sharing

hi harbour..

since u r doing fashion photography.. if u can provide the models and pools...

think a few of us here wont mind helping u to do some shooting.. and maybe let u try afew shots here and there... unless u wanna to try it yrself only...

hmm do u own any digital camera or film camera?

think its a bit hard to rent one for a cheap rate..
hmm.. maybe if u wanna to do Point and shoot.. u can always hop down to any photo print shops and grab a disposal film camera.. those are only $10plus to $20plus.. for a 27 shots..
