Default Using 5400HS flash on Dimage A? or 7D

Hi
Need some help with using 5400HS flash on the digitals from minolta.
Understand from web documents that it is not possible. Has anyone try? I have flash but no digital cam yet.

Thank

eh, u wanna go digital liao ar?

should have brought your flash to test with my 7D that day.

i believe that the flash may not have the capabilities to 'control' the output, but able to use on manual settings.

Manual settings? Like set to manual on camera or aperture priority and set aperture according to subject distance? No TTL? Mean flash will fire at full power everytime.

Thank, did not thot of it that day?

i mean the flash manual, can set 1/1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32 rite, den since no distance encoding, can forget about that part. i believe it should be able to trigger off via A series or Dynax series digicam

Hmm, sounds good. Resale Dimage 7* series are pretty reasonable, may be able to get one and 'play' without buying another flash. Bonus is 'weak' this year.

The flash will reset to 1/1 when you press the shutter release button halfway down regardless of power setting. It's impossible to get the flash to fire at anything else than 1/1, spare using some sort of adapter and releasing it through the PC socket...

It fires 1/1 in P, A and S mode. Only when the camera is in manual mode that you can set the power ratio.

Cheers!

Is it true? DOH! don't think I tested that and can't right now. If so then the flash is usable in many ways... very interesting. Thanks for the info!
