tough to get a good tripod at that price....

1st of all, what gear you are using? DC, DSLR or SLR?

Whats the max load weight for the tripod? 2kg-10kg?

Ball head, tilt and pan etc?

Carbon fibre (if you REALLY need it light).

Carbon fibre is still way too expansive for the
my taste, just get a smaller tripod. If you are using
a point and shoot, get one that will hold your camera.

But take into consideration your future upgrades or add ons.
    Merry xmas and happy shooting

sorry that i did not specific my needs. I'm having LC1 and going to buy Nikkon D70 or Cannon 300 and want something like the Ball head. Is my requirement too far from my budget ? Pls kindly advice.

No way for $80. Even the manfrotto 390 comes at $105. As for slik
you need to get the pro series which is also $100 and above.

Put a $2000.00 camera on $80.00 tripod? steady bo?

Sorry, I don't like to spend money buy this or buy that, only buy things for what I NEED, not what I WANT, so please don't get me wrong.

Not sure about other brand tripod, maybe one model small than manfrotto 055 is good (055 is , but may too heavy for you to carry around), sure can last very long.

Sorry, don't know you are a lady, also didn't see mercurio's post, maybe 390 is good for you.

    Hope this help

I was at Cathay Photo Marina Square just now and check out a few tripods...some people recommended Slix 500...it was about$180.....but I found it too heavy for my liking

At the end I think the Slix 330DX is better fit as I might be travelling with it...the cost also not so siong at $125.....but I am worry if it can withstand the D70 that I am currently using.....guys any comment on this model?

    Thanks.
