Cheers,
Not that bad. The min. focusing distance for the 105mm Macro is 31.3 cm while that of the 180mm Macro is 46 cm.
Been waiting long long for this lens to come.

Just a quick question: Minimum focussing distance is from a) film to subject or b) front-of-lens to subject? If it's (a) then you'd need to take into account the length of the lens to get the actual working distance. And factor in the hood length too.

Sensor or film plane. Usually won't hit the hood lar, could be quite close though.

Digicams a bit different. It's from the tip of the lens. Eg 3cm for C5050, 2cm for F828. That's damn close, so actually they can do very good macro too (unless you are after butterflies and stuff). And remember they can shoot at very big apertures and still get respectable DOF.

Ya this is one of the new lens from Sigma. According to the US Sigma website, it's availability date is TBA. Personally I have went to CP and MS to enquire but they don't have it. So i guessed it must be really unreleased yet from Sigma.
