Default Price of 70-200mm L USM

I was quoted $1980 brand new for a 70-200mm L USM (non-IS). Not sure grey or not. Is it considered cheap?

EOL? Is Canon coming out with a new non-IS version, or sticking with the IS only?

Oh well. you can check bhphotovideo prices. it's about 1.1k US. Of course without shipping and tax. i guess for local price, it's fair unless u can get it elsewhere.

price is ok. but then again, do consider the IS cause it does make huge differences over prolonged continuous period of use at one go. it's the weight dude. the IS will significantly improve ur hit rate when u become tired during shooting.

Yes, agree with Jeff's point. Been there b4. Since already spending such a big sum of money, might as well go all the way and get the IS version. Trust me, you'll find it very useful and a godsend. The 70-200 f2.8 is a heavy lens and not easy to handhold for long periods of time. Having IS helps a great deal.

Thanks for the advice. By the way, what is the estimated price of the IS version?

The $1980 above was actually quoted by TCW (face-to-face quote), and the same day before that I was quoted face-to-face by AP a price of $2520 (with GST). AP also quoted me around $3200 for the IS version.

Just went to TCW again and asked for a quote on the 70-200mm L IS USM. It's going for $2950. Might want to save up for another two months to meet this budget.
