    Default Craziest Motherboard Ever Made!!

    Hi,

AOpen now has a crazy motherboard with an audio section based on tube electronics. The thing actually has a vacuum tube on it! Supposedly meant for audiophiles.

I suppose audiophiles would prefer to tap the digital audio stream from the motherboard and use external DACs with tube analog "back end".

From the layout it does not look like there is adequate isolation of the analog section from the digital circuits.

As complexity rises, precise statements lose meaning and meaningful statements lose precision.

Imagine turning on your PC to warm it for 10 min before using it...

Right, and motherboard audio is not exactly good to begin with. Besides, it adds to the heat in the system. Luckily this one is not for AMD CPUs...

    Probably just a gimmick.

Actually, since the tube is a pre-amp level tube and not a power amp output tube, the tonal quality can actually be done using software dsp routines. No real need to go through the trouble.
