Think mine can last 200 plus also...it seem good enough for me..compare to my canon S 30. The free one that given in bundle is much more disappointing..flat very fast

guys,

mine as well!!! i brought this up before and asked around, that time (abt 1wk plus ago) only me alone is facing this prob, very short life time...

now, my main concern is whether it is due to the body or the batt itself...

most likely (hopefully) it's the batt itself...
if not...

sighz* I just read a canon thread about 20D battery.. Theirs can last 1k shots at least.. What's sucking the battery life in d7d? AS or the large LCD?
I am Certainly not happy with the battery performance..

like wise ... my np400 last thru 200+ shot b4 i switch to alkaline AA. must be energizer or duraxell.. seems the other brand won't last as long.. all this just using the EVF most of the time and using 5600 for flash..

It is disappointing, it is... but let's look at the bright side, we pay and additional of $115.00 for an original NP400 to enjoy the AS function... how much do they(non-KM users) have to invest to get that and furthermore it is only certain lens...

Actually, heard abt this batt short lifetime thing before I bought. But, when we do an overall weighing, this is only a minor concern, really.
1. WB accuracy = GREAT
2. Colour Rendition = GREAT
3. Colour Reproduction = GREAT
4. AS Rocks and we all enjoy + benefit from this...

I believe there are plentty of them experienced differently by each users. Hence, out of all these, the batt life time, well, accept it or change your system (j/k) . Well, I believe we all brought this 'unsatisfaction' out in the most accessible channel here with one intention: KM has to improve it... if by Firmware, it will be everybody's favorite interest then cheers...

ah? 20D can shoot so much on a single charge ah? hahaha... never know... But well, I'm ok with 200+ shots... for me, i can't see the problem, it's not a compact, not really a bother to bring another battery or 2 in the bag right?

Maybe i'm used to the A1's battery life, which is similar...

Anyway, from the specs, external test said around 300 shots right? So it's not like Minolta's not matching its claim or something...

i dun think i will do more than 200 shots in a day... and i got the tendency to view all the pictures i take, so more or less will take up more batteries...

Anyway, i noticed that the camera can still last for some duration after the half bar indicator is up, and even when the indicator turns red , it's still capable of more than a couple of shots...

So... anyone like changed the batteries prematurely resulting in impression that the batt don't last as long as it is actually capable of?

Hmm... actually, to think of it, I don't switch off my cam as often as when i'm using the A1... and the LCD is like on pretty much most of the time, when i'm slinging it, the camera bounce against me with the 'IR eye detector' thingy switching on the LCD now and then...
