Hi all,

Here's a pic of a Brown Shike in Punggol on a sunny morning. Any constructive comments & critics are appreciated.

Cheers!

Though the red color of the banana plant takes away the attention from the main subject, it's still a nice composition. Not that common for a perch.

Good work

Nice shot I think it would be better if there is a little more sparkle to the eye.

Bro,

I thought it look more pleasing without the brown stem of the banana tree on the top left hand corner.

I took the liberty of lighting up the image a little, cropped, resized, sharpened and convert the format to sRGB for reposting. Hope you don't mind.

Strange though, I did not do anything to the colour. It looked the way it did when I opened the file in Photoshop CS.

Happy shooting.

Cheers!

Thanks chngpe01 and joeyao for your comments & critics. Totally agree that the color of the flower is a little overpowering. I'm sure it would look better with fill-flash to bring out it's eyes, but didn't have it with me then.

SK,
Thanks for the repost, it is most welcome.

Could you kindly explain 2 of your digital workflow process as described?
1. Lighting the image,
2. Convert to sRGB.

Also in your opinion, could I have USM my original post more or would it be "overdone"

Thanks for the PS tips!

Cheers!

SK your pics seems much better. Better contrast and saturation. Strangely image seems sharper too.

In this case, I lighted the image by increasing the Luminance under Match Colour from the menu Image, Adjustments.

My working profile under Photoshop CS is Adobe RGB. For web posting, I will need to convert to sRGB (in Photoshop CS) or else the colour will be off when viewed again after posting.

I think you can still sharpen a little more to bring out more details.

Cheers!
