the good brands with high speed ones are lexar/sandisk (and soon corsair)
kingston,hagiwara seems to be fairly popular as well (but speed not as high as lexar/sandisk)
always buy Type 1 CF and not Type II CF,
Type II are microdrives, are prone to damage.

I recommend Lexar 80x 1GB CF.

Lexar 40X 4GB is Type II and it's a CF. Not all type IIs are MDs.

oh yeah. difference between type 1 and type 2 is the card height . most type 2 are microdrive. so be wary.
