Default 20D - focus problems with compatible lens?

Hi,

I was happily using my 20D with my old Tamron 28 - 200mm lens when suddenly no matter what I do, it just cannot focus properly. Couldn't find the subject at all.

I never encountered this while using the Canon lens that came with it. Anyone else encountered this before? Anybody have any idea why and any solutions for it?

Please advise. Thank you.

did you accidentally press the AF switch to MF?

If not, try removing battery, reinsert and see if problem goes away.

Lastly, try with your other lenses - if they are OK then you may need to send your Tamron lens for servicing

Of course I didn't switch to MF. I did remove the battery pack, off the camera and it works. The other lens I tried is the canon 18 - 55mm lens and it has no problems.

Oh never thought of that. I will check later tonight. Hope this is the problem. If not, I would have to burn my pocket for a new zoom lens..haha...

Thanks!
