nah. can always bring it into canon service centre at harbourfront. let them have a look. probably will replace the sensor, if the problem lies there. mebbe a couple of hundred to replace?

i remember someone else had the same problem some time ago. the other CSer's sensor broke down on assignment... real bummer.

grrr coupla hundred.. think it might be time to get that 20d.

I just came back from a 20 day trip to china tho... Im just thinking whether the sub zero temps might have had an issue with teh sensor.

Glad cam was great through the trip tho.

Ever heard of teh sensor being affected this way by the cold?

mebbe. murphy's law, my fren. could be condensation on the sensor causing the banding.

couple of hundred cheaper than couple of thousands for a 20D!

Here are some excuses:

1) Camera broken, since so old already might as well change...
2) 20D is better than D30 (Duh! )
3) Changing sensor is more trouble than getting a new camera....
4) Feed it to your dog. Then say your dog ate your D30, so have to change.
5) Had your camera inside the bathroom. Ran out of toilet paper, so no choice use camera to wipe bum...
6) Help the S'pore economy. Be a patriot man!
7) Its Christmas! So I bought myself a new body.
8) My D30 is lonely and needs a new camera to keep it company in the dark lonely nights in the dry box.

Regards,
Nick

that reminds me..when i was using the d30 i have experienced it b4 but only in one of the shots. it was some kind of the blurring effect that stands out - u cant miss it. but the blurring and darkning effect was on the skin area - the picture was of 2 models - i tried to correct it in Photoshop but not too successful so end up discarded that picture.
