Default 7D Body Problem 1

Dear all,

Start this new thread just to share a piece of information with all of you. And it is named as '...Problem 1', probably there will be new discoveries by other users... (which I hope not... )

Toto38's 7D body encountered 1 prob. with the Rear Control Dial in M mode. It is set that Front Control dial = SS & Rear Control Dial = F/No. The aperture is not under control and stable.
situation: aft dial down to F3.5 (the widest for the lense), if u dial further in the same direction, it jumps to F11.0 or any figure. Very weird and funny prob. To further verify this, the suspected lense was mounted on my 7D body and it did not show such incident. Lastly, to really further confirm it is not the issue of lense compatibality, we swapped the Rear Control Dial setting to SS and Front as F/No. It is solved.

Our conclusion is the Rear Control Dial. To me, this is a pretty serious prob. Hence, we are going back to CP to have a 1-to-1 body exchange since it is still within 7 days of the purchase.

So, guys, go n try the control dial. Swap the setting, to make sure it works although your practice of dialing the aperture may be always the Front one instead of the Rear one. Practice in this case may be not important, but the key point is, it is possible to encounter with any of the dialing controller!!

Cheers...

I have been using this setting all the while, and i have no problem with 2 of my lenses. it is most likely an isolated case for that body and does not apply to the rest.

Never happened to be too. Think it's an isolated problem.
