Hi, my name is Alan; I'm an American white guy living in Chengdu, China. I've joined this forum as it seems to be more Asia-specific than others I've found while still being in English (and I do enjoy the added Singapore flavor to the language!).
My photography journey over the years has meandered as far as gear is concerned...I started out on my dad's old AE-1 in the early 90's, then got my first digital camera (a Fuji) in 2000. I added a Canon 10D to this in 2003, along with various lenses plus a 35mm film Ricoh GR1v in 2003 as well. I'm fully hooked on the Micro 4/3s craze right now and thoroughly enjoy shooting with legacy lenses on those digital bodies. I've temporarily sold my Oly body and am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my OM-D next month.
I mainly focus on landscape photography but also enjoy some photojournalism-style street photography. I've travelled all over SE Asia and really enjoy the kaleidoscope of cultures, languages, and photographic opportunities.
I look forward to whatever I can contribute here!
