Default 85mm f1.2L

Is this lens still in production? According to B&H website http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...x=9&Submit.y=3 , this lens is still "in stock". Will their stock be new batch or older ones?

If you search around, you'll know the lens is still in production. Terence had shot concerts if I can remember with this lens. Maybe he can show you the capabilities of this lens.

So have you bought anything yet?

Oh, so my source of information was unreliable. Heard from a friend that it was OOP. Waiting for O results to come out yet before buying anything, but have already bought a 24-70f2.8L after obtaining fantasic results from a previous loan of this lens..

One more thing. What is the difference between "Imported" and "USA" lenses. Which ones are more reliable?

Good luck with your results!

Try to beat my score: 6 A*'s and 3 A's (Dunno what the S'pore system is for GCE though)

Anyways... USA lenses are like the lenses you get from CP etc. etc. The 'Imported Lenses' are like TCW lenses. Understand?

Regards,
Nick

"USA" lenses are lenses with International Warranty.

"Imported" lenses are "Grey lenses" where there is no International warranty and Canon Singapore will charge for any servicing or repairs. The shop that sells the "Imported" lenses will generall provide their own repairs/warranty in place but not always.

Will try...but sadly, have to wait for another 3 months...

So USA lenses are with warranty and Imported lenses are like grey sets..

I know of someone who bought one recently,
so if in stock, and out of production, does that mean that the ones on the shelf are the last ones there?

The out of production rumour is a silly excuse started by some shops to explain their lack of stock......next lens to go out of production is the 35/1.4........

Which may also mean that they say out of production to make you feel special when you buy one.
Or to force you to get the newer version :P

How can I let a 85/1.2 thread go by without adding something to it. Sorry if you've seen these ones before, haven't uploaded any new material lately.

Sharpness, contrast, low light capabilities... in addition to creamy bokeh.
