it's a grey nightjar.

tho not always accurate, greys are mostly found sleeping in trees and large tails are mostly found on the ground.

So Nightjars are owls? I am really bad at this, but I got an eye for weird details in the jungle/forest..

nope they're not owls. they are relatives under the same order (Strigiformes), but belong to different families. Nightjars are under Caprimulgidae whereas owls are under Tytonidae and Strigidae.

Frogmouths are found in the same order too!
