I meant the different modes of focus peaking on GXR, not shooting B&W. Just feel the mode where the entirely of the image is in grey scales, and objects in-focus has a little more contrast and shimmer is in focus, is the easier mode on the GXR. When you half-press, it'll still present the composition in colour. And your image captured will still be in colour.

The Pentax one is similar to the other mode in GXR where the image is rendered in colour, and subject shimmers with white borders when in focus.

NEX maybe better in that aspect (subjective), but it's not a tool I have chosen or will choose.

Anyways, I digress. The main thing here is the Pentax K-01 and I think anyone with K mount lenses will love this camera, manual or AF ones.

Noise it OK but it's looks quite muddy or is it simply slightly out of focus or is the lens a tad soft?

I actually think that considering the dim conditions going by the time of day and the slow shutter speed, the shot is more than acceptable. At any rate, the noise isn't difficult to clean up. Not too long ago, previous generations of DSLRs would not even come close to such quality.

FF is not the way to go if you care a lot about noise in the original file.

There is 645D, then there are Leaf digital backs (Medium format).. And I suppose if that doesn't satisfy you can always get one of these... Better Light Large Format Digital Photography - The World's Finest Digital Camera System

If that fails, then you should just turn to graphic design and start creating your noise-less scenes...

Personally, I just post mostly on the web, do 8R max prints. One day when I have a place of my own maybe I'll think about printing something slightly larger, but I'm not going to ever own a big mansion so it will also be limited. K5 file size is already a bit too large for me... But well, it's useful if you do panoramic crops (16:9)..

...wish of the dream mansion too.
I dun shoot at high ISO.
After accessed the link of the full size pic. It looks okay w/o noise.
However, when I selected zoom+ to enlarge the pic...and then zoom- the pic back to original size, some noise then appear or slightly grainy...
Wonder it came from...the camera, staticflickr.com or my monitor.

So there's nothing to do with FF or turning to graphic design etc. etc.

Anyone of you manage to register the warranty with Emjay online? The site seems to be down.

Emjay don't do online registration any more

Just hold onto the warranty card and receipt will be good enough.
