    cost $11 (or $12) at Fotoguide, besides Cathay Photo. The power doesn't matter. The quote's for a 52mm one though. I didn't need to bargain at all, just asked a (fat) guy and was quoted the price.

    silly qn - what does a close-up filter do?

    If I used it on my 35-80mm lens what's the diff
    between that and a UV filter?

    thanks =)

    It allows you to focus closer, thus magnifying the subject.
