Any updates on where to get the Omnibounce for SB600? Heard there was an issue sometime back. Is there one available now that fits in nicely? If so, where to get it and how much? Thank you.

Stofen Omnibounces are available at CP.

Thanks. But I thought there is a problem with it. There were some discussions on this issue some time back. |

dunno a bt u guys, but when i had my 550ex, omnibounce damn useless...
get a white plastic cardboard and stick it behind the flash pointing up (bounce mode) did a MUCH better job of diffusing light to create a more natural lighting instead of the deer in headlights look. |

There are different purposes for using bounce card/omnibounce,

Stofen came out with one specifically for sb600. I got the previous model (one that shares with canon flashes) that does not fit. Dunno if Cathay has or not.
I too personally prefer bounce cards - you don't need walls/ceilings to bounce the flash from, unlike an omnibounce. But I have seen guys using an omnibounce in direct flash position, much like a soft box. Does it work? ![]() |

i dunno bro, it doesnt really work in both bounce mode or direct position i get same results... well it does reduce the flash power a bit... but the TTL metering will try to compensate by upping the flas output...
i dunno i found it was a waste of my 30 bucks... bounce card was more useful at giving a nice natural lighting

Might consider the softbox though, then can forget about bouncing all over the place... |

CP's current $30 omnibounce will NOT fit the SB600 - confirmed. Will have to wait for the ones specially made for SB600 to arrive.

theres a smaller one that is a tighter fit....but works fine....tink its the one for the 420 EX...
alternatively the "sock" type at eastgear is pretty good too... |

Hi, I've got the East gear soft box... from what i see.. it only stops the full amount of flash... dats all.... and I think it stop too much light....... feel cheated.
