Now there is a challenge for owners of disguarded 16meg CF cards.

I bet it is not as spetacular as a CD disk is in a microwave for 3sec.

*Flash News Report* "There have been reports of microwave ovens blowing up all across the country today".

what's with the CD in a microwave? what happens??

i am really interested too to see if the CF card survives a wash...

if it does then i know i don't have to worry so much about keeping it in nice warm and dry temperature, etc already...

    Hi ibitemynails (great name !)

I can't say I have actually put a CF card in a microwave, but I bet it won't survive it.
I can say I have put a CD disk in for 3sec and it is quite spectacular.

Warning: (do not do this at home)

    Cheers
Time, is an effortless construction :)

    Not important?

    A lot of imperfections...?

    What I'm wondering is:

    Did you use softener? kEKEKEKEKEKE!

Hope everything turns out fine Astin!

My Sony memory stick 128mb survived a drop into a puddle of water. Bring home, left in dry cabinet for over a week. Can still run but sometimes must insert and remove then insert again to read.

yeah, read before that CF passed few "acid tests" like washing machine, coke & coffee spillage, but definately not able to survive a nail in the card!

Confirm it work .... I bet for Working Card !!!! .....

1st Hand information ..... Drop CF card into washing machine .... TWICE !!! .... One card is still intact .... the other other had it's cover blown off, left only the internal circuit ..... and still work !!!! .....

Soon. I had sun-dried the card for the 1st few hours, then let it sit on my table in a air-con room for the next day, then put it in a dry cabinet after that, hopefully it will completely dry up then I will copy out the photos and test in my camera again.

you sound like you're planning to toss your SD card into the washer too, only just waiting for someone to do it first before you do so!

you never noe, there could be alittle gremlin in his washer who used it to take these shots while it was inside, and then wrapped it up in plastic so that it's safe.

so, moral of the story: Don't be afraid to toss your CF to washing machine?

BTW, seems like tossing the CF to washing machine remove all the noise perfectly
