Is the stain caused by (e.g permanent marker ink) left on the finger or what?

How much does that filter cost you? if it is not really that much, just dump that filter, you are better off without the filter anyway.
I am not a photographer, just someone who happened to have a couple of cameras.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I just bought the UV filter and the fingerprint was already there. I managed to remove the fingerprint using mf cloth but there is this sort of like greasy stain which i cant remove it.
