Even if it's no good, it's due to sample variation and not the shop "bring in lousy stuffs"... So long as got warranty can liao.. Haha!

admittedly, i could had shot better. ah but wth, this is just for testing.

as far as i know, it looks good.
this is gonna sound really funny, but are pentax colors that saturated usually? my previous canon wasn't that colorful. kinda surprised and it might take some getting used to it

yes. my experience with K-5 might be short but my shots proves that Pentax got better AWB over Canon

btw, would like to know how did your deal goes and what do you get?

    thanks

i didnt mean awb... what i mean really was the color saturation... 2 different things.

i got the sigma 10-20mm. got it with what u normally expect from any shop

it compares well with the canon, save the lack of hsm and a lot lighter (due to lack of the af motor perhaps)

It is more snappy. You may choose more neutral curves. The default is Bright or Vivid IIRC but you can always choose to set it as Neutral.

I myself use landscape ho ho.

My grey set was bought around the price Allen got in 2006 thereabouts. It's lasted 5 years and more and worked fine save for an occasional communication issue.

that said, there is risk la obviously. But considering the price difference I'd say my take is that it's worth it.

communication issue meaning camera don't recognise the lens right? i'm facing that problem now i think. i'll put it through some tests and get back.

apparently lens correction function on the camera is disabled when i'm using the sigma.

edit: after testing, i don't think so. i guess my lens is fine, and that there is no lens correction associated with this lens from pentax...

mm i'm mostly using vivid, because it kinda boosts the vibrancy of the image. but i guess its more of an acquired taste

of course, why would pentax want to encourage use of a third party lens? lens correction only works with currently produced lenses IIRC
