Hi all
Is the above lens compatible with F601? Does the len come with an external apreture ring? In the event of upgrading my F601 to something else (D70), will it still work? Has anyone use the above len before, are the images sharp and any major dissatisfaction about it? Thanks Last edited by snemeis; 6th December 2004 at 06:08 PM. |

I happen to have this lens. I have used it with D100 and I like it. You can view the photos @ http://sg.geocities.com/sg_zy2003/zoo.htm
It has aperture ring. In the office, can't check now. I just buy a F2.8 lens, if you r interested to buy a 2nd hand one. let me know. Then I can save effort to put on ad. |

Hi,
Yes, I have this lens too. The picture is very good if you can keep your hand steady! |

Cheap and Good! I got the 1st generation one, bought in 1999. Seems to have slightly better build quality than the later ones. I am sure it works with the F-601.
the standard version (not G lens) has a regular apeture ring. I use this lens alot with an F3. Pros: - Light weight - compact - ED glass - comes with nice lens hood - Steady and smooth focus ring with long rotation, very good for MF use - Super as a travelling tele lens, no need to break your back. Cons: - So light that you require support to keep steady - plasticky feel - Long rotation of focus ring means that AF is abit slow... hunts on older AF bodies, wrrrr... wrrrrr.... - Not sharp at 300mm, near infinity focus. |
