What the Japanese did in WWII was cruel , humiliating and inhumane
Mao killed 10s of millions (estimates are between 50 to 70 million civillians) of his countrymen too during the Great Leap Forward and the Cultural Revolution, more than Hitler, Stalin, Idi Amin , Mussolini, Ho Chi Minh and Japan COMBINED.
Sun Tzu time was about 550BC (about same time as Confucius) .... so there were already military principles and governmental ethics then

monsters dont come in any particular skin color or race

and this is not about who is more cruel or who killed more .... I dont think NineEleven was downplaying Japan's atrocities but Japan's biggest crime is in not apologizing or admitting to its atrocities which is not forgivable .... which is why this bashing will keep going as long as Japan denies its past sins.... They might have surrendered officially in 1945, but they have not "settled" yet.

As long as this is outstanding.... the vendetta will always be there ... they lost the war, many have died in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, their war criminals got executed, they got occupied by the Americans, their women got played by the American GIs .... only their silent pride is left .... I am guessing that they will NOT surrender that pride anytime soon .... so wait long long if you expect an apology (which IMHO is the ultimate humiliation and similar to a former master now crawling between the legs of his slave ) forthcoming

And idiot Abe is going to open up old wounds even further by trying to retract an earlier half-baked apology

We just stand aside diplomatically and watch China do its job on behalf of all affected nations

Only when China's navy starts to reassert its claim to the South China Sea and every spot that Sailor Boy Cheng Ho stepped foot on, then we will need to act
