Hi,
My office just acquired a Epson 2100 and I realised it does not seem to support glossy papers like Premium Glossy, only "Glossy Paper Photo Weight". Anyone actually tried Premium Glossy (or other glossy papers) on it? Or is this printer solely for matte/semigloss only? Regards CK |

I've tried the normal Epson photo paper (left over from my previous 900) on the 2100 and it turned out horrible (colour was off, contrast was flat) as I have anticipated because 2100 does not support this printing paper.
So, I wouldn't bother with the Premium Glossy or even with the normal Matte paper. Glossy Paper Photo Weight does the job for me as I am happy with its glossiness although it may not have the weight/thickness characteristics of the Premium Glossy. You may also want to try the Ilford Smooth Gloss Paper and you can download its 2100 profile from Ilford Website. My past experience with this Ilford paper: It has almost identical colour characteristic as Epson Premium Semigloss but with a touch of gloss. |

I second that... I too tried Epson Glossy Photo Paper.... very bad.
I would suggest to use Ilford's Smooth Gloss or the new Smooth Hi-Gloss paper. If you want something more affordable try PrintAsia (OEM by Ilford) Premium Glossy Photo Paper not Photo Glossy Paper. In "Paper Configuration" - Color Density... select -5%. You will love it. |

The regular (RC) Epson glossy photo paper is good for dye-based of printer e.g. 1290 or i9950 but not for pigment ink, cos' the ink will not absorb ..... that's why it' looks bad.
Another thing.... this printer drink .... the light magenta goes first. |
