P-TTL FLASH: SIGMA EF-500 SUPER or PENTAX AF360GZ?

Does any1 have any experience with sigma flashes?
how is their built quality and durablilty? good?
choosing btw the 2 flashes for my DS.

Ya im interested to get the PENTAX AF360GZ too.so anyone out there owns the flash?how is it?

I don't know what your intended use for the flash is, but the AF360FGZ doesn't swivel - only tilts. This makes it difficult to use well when shooting in portrait orientation - the main reason why I didn't consider this unit.

I ended up with a 2nd hand Sigma EF500 ST non-DG, which is TTL-only, so it's a curious piece of thing to use ...

i got both,but i like the 360 more than 500 DG.
planning to sell the sigma 500 DG with P-TTL support.

I like the 360 too, but might opt for the Pentax AF540 soon. Anyone know if it's available here yet?

Well, at least the Pentax (seems to) have better built quality and better finishing as well, probably recharge/refresh abit faster too. But the Sigma 500DG has stronger power and a pan/tilt head (while the 360 can tilt only).

The Pentax AF540FGZ would be a solution if money isn't an issue

BTW, there is a 360 for sale at yahoo auction.sg (not mine btw, I'm not selling

) for S$169 only. Quite good price if I'm buying one ...

So it's not because the 360 performs better (eg.. more accurately) than the 500DG? Prefer a flash that can swivel.. but cannot afford the Pentax 540..

Yes, l like the AF360 coz it's a Pentax. errr...don't think the AF540 is available here yet..

I used to own 360, but sold off and bought a 500DG as it tilt and swivel.. will be looking into 540 once its made available and if i had budget for it...

the 360 is more solid ,i buy the 500DG because it got swivel head and stronger power.
i am now waiting for the new 540 .
