can the Iomega desktop hdd casing be removed?
I bought the Iomega Portable 120Gb HDD
and would like to ask if anyone has bought it too.
As I cannot see any ways to open the casing, is there anyway if the harddisk is spoilt in the future that I could replace it ?

They are damn good at this casing thing. I've a 250Mb external ZIp drive, not working, till now, I still can't figure out how to open it. I tried to open it by force, sigh... can't open.
That's why I got a HDD & a seperate external casing.
And usually u can't replace the HDD inside with a new one, cos the board is flashed to only accept that particular HDD. I maybe wrong.
Good luck on ur quest.

I bought at $285 with a free 128Mb Thumb Drive and a free Trolley luggage bag(not much use) during Sitex... I email the Iomega guy and they not willing to tell me how to open it. they say warranty void if open and even I assure them I will not do it during warranty period they dun tell me....
I can't see a single screw on the casing and so far, cannot locate any sliding parts.. maybe they really dun let you open it
if any ppl here successful in doing it, kindly share with me,thanx...
if not, shld hv get those HDD and casing separately.. then at least I no need throw the whole thing away if HDD spoilt 2 reuse the casing..
