If I'm not wrong, lasers are best on bright white plain paper. You had better not get special coated paper to use with your laser printer because it might just spoil the drum or the toner unit.
HP does have bright white plain paper. Not sure about Epson though. For normal use I'll simply get cheap 70 gsm paper to print my stuff. By the way, I'm using the Minolta 2300W colour laser which I bought for $799 back in March IT Show. ![]() |

there are 200gsm and 250gsm gloss paper that *looks* like those glossy paper for inkjet, around 25cents for min of 100 pcs, that's the best i can think of
however, not many printer can handle that kind of thickness (definitely not for the Epson C900) the paper must have a straight paper path, so those 4 pass printers can forget abt it or you risk having the paper burn and stuck inside. the fuser also must be powerful enough to fuse the toner properly, else the toner will start dropping off from the smooth surface if you want to have photo quality print out with a colour laser, you have made a wrong choice, colour laser only good for presentation slides and brochures where the photo quality isn't really important. even a super high-end colour laser + the best paper out there will not give u similar quality like a $80 inkjet + photo paper |

Wai,
i have pm u b4, and i guess i wasnt any big shot for u to reply me. anyway i fine with that. If i wan foto quality, of coz i will opt for photo lab processing. But since office have a Epson C900, I am jus wondering if i can fully untillse it. It so simple. I dun make wrong choice. And i think 163gsm is the thickest the printer can handle ![]() but i do hope for some "photo quality" paper" at least they make good post card ![]() |

probably i was too busy with soemthing else
![]() remember to use the multipurpose tray and not the paper casette and set the paper type to cardstock those 250gsm are great for post card, just printed some last week, but 200gsm or lower will be too thin already |
