    Default Speedlite bracket help

I just bought a $18 straight bracket from CP. When I mounted it on my 300D, I realised that the flash can only be attached to the right hand side of the camera (where the shutter release button is), which makes it very uncomfortable for shooting. Is there any way I can modify the bracket so that a flash can be attached to the left hand side of the camera?

can you swing it around to the left of camera? if not, go back to CP and exchange for one with left flash orientation, if they have one.

I've managed to use a spanner to turn the off shoe thingy around. now the flash can be mounted on the left hand side...
