Went to try out the GX-1 & EPL-3 at TK yesterday.
Still prefer the NEX-5N. But want to get it in White.
Sadly seems like its sold out islandwide. Only Cathay Photo has it but price is high.

Do what Kai from digitalrev do lor. Paint your NEX-5N white or whatever colour you want.

    Joking la.

Anyway, check out Harvey Norman, and if they carry the white colour NEX-5N, then go bargain with them, telling them that shops in Funan was selling at whatever price... of course if there is black and white equote from these shops would be better. Ask Harvey Norman to match the price... anyway, you have nothing to lose what. If can, good for you, if cannot, then walk out of the shop.

I heard from one of the CSer here that you can bargain with Harvey Norman, no problem.

then just get the Nex-5N. u probably prefer a camera that is more "automatic" and allows u to take pictures in a more fuss free manner. sony's good at that. but the trade-off is that some users find the need to dive into the menu to access more advanced functions slow and frustrating.

i would urge you to hands on with the camera more and see if u're really comfortable with the size... i really don't find it very small with the kit lens attached.

    Get an e-quote from them.

Or ask these guys, seems to be a Harvey Norman rep giving discounts:

For the NEX-5N, there's a new function which allows you to tag 5 different parameters to the large central button.

So that means for frequently changed parameters, you don't have to dive into the menu anymore.

But I do admit in the day, I love it paired with the 28-75 f2.8.

But bcos of the weight & bulkiness I decided to switch to a mirrorless.

I dun wished to get anymore accessories.
I just want to kit to work well for me under low light and in e day.

I know nuts about mirrorless camera.
And only managed to hands on Sony C3, 5N & Nikon J1, V1.

So was asking if any own a mirrorless which works very well for them as kit.
from your statement i can only conclude:

either you have a problem controlling noise level hence the introduction of tripods

or you assume current tiny cameras have good iso noise control - but i can tell you, you are 100% mistaken.

Pentax K-x is 1 of the better ISO noise control out there.~

TS's problem is not with high ISO noise. she's facing problems with low-light AF.

and tripod's not gonna help much if u're taking family snapshots. kids are not gonna stay still long enough for u to take a clean pic with 1 sec shutter speed...

Is it really going to be good in low light AF as what Joyce expects?

Joyce, I'd advise you to go try the camera in a dimly lit part of the electronics store you are trying the camera in.
If you only try out the AF on the well lit diorama that is there for trying out the camera or a contrasty lit display case, AF will always be pretty good.
Since what you want is AF in dim situations, then try out the camera is similar lighting situations.
Don't just spend the money thinking that a new camera will solve the issue you have right now, and find out only after going home and using it, that is more or less the same.

I think the main complain is about slow AF in low light. Not an ISO issue
