If the RH is too low, leather will dry up and crack, better not put it together with your camera.

sorry for hijacking this thread. hi, i'm using the moonlight series, after doing some fine tuning for several days, finally get my rh done at 42%-45% was happily ever after till yesterday the rh goes 37% and I try tune a bit but rh goes 4+% then go back 37%-38%. What could possibly go wrong or is this tuning so troublesome?

At first, don't worry about +/-5% RH, nothing critical and nothing will crumble to dust. Do you have AD series? If yes then the lower RH is just a result of lower RH in ambient air. Somebody used aircon maybe? The AD series works 'Always On' and the resulting inside RH is a balance between the dehumidifier working and humid air flowing in. The Digital series (DHC) has a target setting and the inside RH should not fluctuate anymore. Once it's reached the unit goes off and comes on again if the deviation exceeds the threshold.

As long as you don't forget them there's nothing wrong with storing them inside the dry cabinet. Rechargeable batteries have a self discharge, once they are below a certain level they cannot be used anymore (Lithium Ion types) or need special charging with refresh / reformatting (NiMH).
Batteries are not sensitive to certain humidity levels.

    3600 WH = 3.6 KWH ( 1 KWH = 1000 WH)

Power grid charges is est. 27 cents per KWH

    3.6 KWH x 27 cents = 97 cents

So the electricity bill for the dry cab is 97 cents per month.

The above assume that the dry cab. is operating 24 hours, at time when the desire Humidity has reach
    it will automatically switch-off.

You can check the data behind the dry cab. It will tell you how many watts it consume.

You tend to use the compact more often and, even if some fungus appear, you may not notice it cos the lens is soooo small.
