Default Joi Cai Chun Jia Autograph Session @ Tampines Mall Open Plaza

Some pics of it, not really good pics, haven yet get around in getting the add on flash, so the lighting is bad on the pics, and still not very good in getting DOF, in training of it.

your shots doesn't show the event; it only shows the singer. no backdrop etc, nobody for the supporters etc...

eh..on the technical aspects...

1) noise level was high
2) Photos suffer from handshake, out of focus, softness.....
3) all the photos look underexp...

Solution

1) use flash
2) lower iso
3) do some digital touchup.....

Dunno, first time go take this kind of event, so must take how?
The surrounding and crowd also must take?

The iso must lower till how much, usually iso I put on auto, only 50-400 range iso for my cam.
The underexposed I agree, cause didn't have the flash, then go PS increase the brightness/contrast, attempt to make it better, but wait too much the pics like overshoot, somemore in PS I only know how to do minimal things with it.

But thanks for advice.

try looking for some of zod's photos of stella on the forum.... u may get wat sehsuan means by including the surrounding...

basically even without flash, i guess ya shutter speed is too slow and aperture too small....

cheers..

Ya, I cannot faster the shutter cause the widest aperture for me at 420mm zoom is f4.0 or 4.5 I forgot, if faster the shutter it will be too dark.

For events, take the crowd, the performers, musicians, the onlookers, the props (?), peoples faces and expressions, the fans & supporters, etc., almost anything. Snap everyone and all those candid moments--hey you're using digital, shoot more. Try different types of shots. All your shots are upper-body, leaves me wondering if she has nice legs?

Try to take ISO 100-200. Z3 ISO 400 has too much noise.

PS: I'm looking around for a flash too! 3600HS most probably. Interested in getting it together?

My lecture ended at 5... had to rush all the way from clementi to Tampinese. Nearly late... and saw a male taiwanese singer singing at the level 1. And I nearly waited at the wrong place.... until I realise that there's a open plaza at level 4...

Default Anyone else has more Joi photos?

I'm not here to show off skill lah, just sharing photos. Can understand the difficulties Shiro had with his cam. I had a hard time shooting with my Lumix FZ1 too, limited iso, slow shutter speed, even ois is hard to control at high telephoto.

Anyone has more joi photos to share?

Oh and please listen to her album if u haven't.
