purple fringing

Hi,
I hear some canon compact cameras like the A95 and A75 suffer from purple fringing and chromatic aberrations (whatever it means). Do fujifilms suffer the same fate too? I have a S5000 and personally i don't have a good eye for fine details such as purple fringing, much like a non-musician not being able to be in tune... But it seems to be a big deal among some others like stevesdigicams. Hmm? anyone care two post your two cents?
