Red face A DIY Shutter Release for 300D (S$3)

After read below links:
http://www.chantalcurrid.com/remoteControl.htm
http://www.chantalcurrid.com/Remote/Theory.html

Did a try. It works on my 300D.

Bought a Nokia 3210 hand free (one microphone, one earpieace type, in

Clementi bus interchange, opp 96 stop) for S$1.5. Just used the cord/wire and the 2.5 mm plug.

The plug has 4 sections. 2 short sheeves, one ring and one tip. Shorted the 2

short sheeve. So, we have 3 terminals just as shown in chantal's website.

Need two buttons/switches. I used an old car remote key, which has two

buttons. Connected as shown in chantal's website. It works.

(1) Normal shooting
Press 'focus' SW1 to focus, then 'shutter' SW2 to shoot.

(2) Bulk mode
For bulk, press 'focus' SW1 to focus, then 'shutter' SW2, the shutter opens.

When release 'focus' SW1, the shutter close.

If do not have two buttons/switches, may buy two hand free sets.

Just to share my experience. Am NOT responsible for any damage to one's

camera/system if one likes to try/test it out !!!!!!!!

You can connect it directly too if I'm not wrong. Too bad I don't have a earpiece to try with. Heh.
