Anybody knows why US price is lower than Sgp''s?

I was searching for reviews on the Fuji E510 on the web and noticed the list price for the camera in the US are much lower at US$290 (approx. S$490), whereas the RRP in Sgp is currently S$699. The huge price difference probably exists for other camera makes too and not just for Fuji cameras. Does anyone have a clue how this is so?

Those are not price after rebates but nett online prices. Some even provide free shipping in the US. However those shops (such as Amazon) won't ship to Sgp.
