Sitex 2004 is coming up. Maybe there will be trade-in deals.

Anyway the iBook G4 1.2Ghz 12' is going for $1848 SRP. Maybe Sitex will offer better prices. Able to run Photoshop CS smoothly with at least 512mb of ram

If you know somebody which is studying in NUS/NTU, you can get a Mac at Educational price, with Applecare

    Thanks for the info guys!

Slight revision of plans. Am now looking for a real BASIC Mac/iMac that can run internet reliably. Preferably a no frills cheapo one will do. Know of anyone who wants to sell?

I'll still use my PC for PSing etc as those still work; it's only super major problems when connecting and surfing the iNet.

If it's problems when connecting and surfing da net, advise u to check the following in the following order:

    1) Physical connections
    2) Router
    3) Traceroute to a Singapore site
    4) Traceroute to a foreign site
    5) Call up ur ISP

Apple no longer sells the swivel LCD screen G4 iMac.

U might be able to find it at SITEX for cheap where retailers might wanna clear stock.
