Not sure about price, The last time I got mine from ClubSnap MO at $240. Now maybe the price also increase. Actually money well spent, best and most expensive magnifier in its class.

zoom to 120mm Dont know about closest meeting at 70mm. Others use a 1.4TC to extend the range and they can stand back furthur. Allan |

Working distance is 50cm (500mm - hence the name 500D) regardless of focal length.

500d with 77MM so I will have to order from Hong Kong CP is charging $220 for a 62mm version.. I would prefer to get a 77MM version so in the future I can adapt it to other size lens or is that a misunderstanding? A 62mm can still work on the 80-400 with a 77mm thread but what would happen to a 77mm adapted to a Sony 717 at 58MM? Would this degrade the photo somewhat? If that is the case I'd better take the 62mm Regds Allan |

I am considering selling mine in (10/10 to MINT condition with everything original). If anyone is keen, make me a reasonable offer via PM. It's as good as new - so I will be expecting the price to reflect as such - otherwise I would rather keep it. |

Allan: I would recommend going for the larger one. You won't be able to use a 62mm 500D on a 77mm thread unless you are going to crop the image. But note that your step-up ring has to be of a reasonable material as the 500D is not your ordinary filter - it's quite a heavy piece of glass.
Optically it is very good - just requires some skill in focusing and managing the very shallow DOF. |
