A very long time ago, like 20+ years ago. Kodak published a book, 'Joy of ...no, not that.....Photography'. There's a follow on book, More Joys of Photography, the first as always, is the best.

It contained many great pictures and provided short one line explanation why the picture looks good. Recently given to my nephew for his journey into this realm of poverty.

I do not know if you can still find it, maybe, it's worth a read.

    Edit
Amazingly, its still available from Amazon.

Actually, I read quite a bit of magazines (don't ask me the titles, just go to the shop and you will find tons of them). Anyway, before you go splurting money on books, you must first have a clear idea of what are you interested in and get only those books.
I am not a photographer, just someone who happened to have a couple of cameras.

We already said the title in this thread.

Look for Michael Freeman or Ryan Peterson.

Currently I reading Freeman's book photographer's eye. Local stores selling abt $45.

The book is all about composition, regardless of what photography styles. Good book to read and learn

Go get the Kodak book. You can finish it in one to two hours or less.

Only thing remaining is how much you can still remember and apply.
