    If anyone here think a Taxi Driver could easily make $3k or more every month... feel free to take your taxi license and quit your day job.... after 6 month... do update us on how easy it is.

    But do remember...
    * No paid Annual leave
    * No paid Medical leave
    * No CPF or Medisave

    FYI... my dad was a Taxi diver for over 10 years... till he die of a heart attack while on the road at PIE. So, I could testify that the life of any Taxi Diver isn't as easy as people think.

    Sure, you can leave, but you have nowhere to go!
    Because there are no other countries like Singapore, that welcomes foreigners to come and stay with open arms.
    While if you are a non-Singaporean, anytime you want to leave your country, there is a high chance you can come to Singapore to stay if you know how to go about it.
    By the way, I don't know of any governments that do not allow their citizens to leave the country.
    Your point is so valid. I always hope I am some ft who come here to gain n then go back n be rich man

    All they think of is revenue based. The fares ALWAYS head north and never south.
    the head of the PTC is Gerald Ee, who is a noted figure in social welfare, and the son of a great philanthropist... he is also not affiliated with any political party... know someone of better qualification?... in any case, they are not in charge of taxi fares... maybe they should be actually...

    anything wrong with Singapore, seems the Government is to blame... by the way, wonder what the opposition parties think about this... very quiet from them...

    Hong Kong's skilled immigration programs

    If that link is accurate, being in the youngest age category with a university degree, and being able to speak and write both English and Chinese, and having worked 2 years or so.. That's:

    30 (age) + 30 (bachelor's degree) + 10 (2 years work experience) + 20 (language proficiency)... That's 90, I can immigrate to Hong Kong anytime I want.

    Not exactly true, I worked in Taiwan a few years back, my direct supervisor clocked 100+ hours of OT every month. His OT pay
    was same as his basic pay. You will still see a lot of office lights on at 10pm at most of the tech and office districts.

    Last monday. TVB awards, I rush back from work. From 2015 to 2030, NO TAXI! Ended up bus.
    Today (Tues evening), no need rush back. Whole area full of taxi with GREEN color. Close 1 eye also can flag down 1.
    Will monitor next time, see how long this is going to last. haha!
    Only Sony device mostly, haha!
