SINGAPORE : Singaporeans can expect more wet weather and potential flash floods in the next two days.
The Meteorological Service said Singapore is likely to experience moderate to heavy showers with thunder on Friday and Saturday.
This is due to a monsoon surge, which is expected to affect the region from December 2 to 4.
A monsoon surge refers to the steady strengthening of north-easterly winds blowing from the South China Sea.
This usually brings periods of prolonged and widespread heavy rain, lasting between two and five days.
Occasionally, windy conditions and cooler temperatures are also expected.
Minister for the Environment and Water Resources, Vivian Balakrishnan, said water agency PUB will take necessary precautions and keep the public informed.
