Yeah i was about to comment about that... If you don't wish to use to flash to spoil the ambient lighting, use a faster lens or push up the ISO. Other than that your composition is pretty alright from my prespective.

Kekeke...I did....
I used the built-in bounce card on my SB800 for that shot, but I think the model was a bit too far....
Actually I noticed the under-exposure for that shot, but the model was just too pretty...

ISO too high for D70 is a mistake, but thr kit lens isnt the brightest if you are going to shoot at F5.6 @ 70 mm.. still i gues the best get a flash first. and i think 1 of the pix is slanted abit.. ... next i think you would like to tyr to do close up with the model to improve your skill and try shooting in M mode.. it's fun

Actually I'm using M mode....
I shot at F5.6 as I wanted to increase the depth of field. 1 of the slanted pix is on purpose....

when shooting into a car, note where your flash is aiming, esp you use any bounce car.

most of the time, the flash or some of the lights landed outside the car. to make thing worst, the flash that went onto the car top will create additional shadow on the subject inside. this is what happen to your picture.

Maybe for this type of shot, I'll try to use a diffuser. It might help.
