I've the Canon G5 with build-in intervolameter and also has capability to have in-camera battery charging...
Also quite good for infrared photography...
Option for Canon users are CHDK, a custom firmware to do time lapse.

using manual mode, with a few change in exposure in between, edited in LRTimelapse and Adobe Lightroom.

    thanks!

i have also compiled a timelapse using the unedited files, i changed the camera settings for about 10 times throughout the whole sequence, just to show what LRTimelapse can do, really a powerful tool for Timelapse photography.

i used both LRTimelapse and LR, we need both to work together.

for example, say, i have 100 photos, i will use LR to do the following settings:

first photo: +1 exposure, WB 5000K
last photo: -3 exposure, WB 4000K

then i save the metadata, import these 100 photos to LRTimelapse, and use the transition settings in LRTimelapse, so i will have the photos in between change gradually from +1 to -3 exposure, WB from 5000K to 4000K, save metadata, and import back to LR to export.

you should watch the tutorial on the LRTimelapse website for better idea.

Cheap option for time lapse would be to install magic lantern into your sd card, if it supports ur dslr.. This will allow you to take photos automatically in a given time interval without putting any external intervalometer. Try googling magic lantern for more info. :-)
