I owned a 2100 and good friend of mine, a i9950. Both are good in their own ways, you will not go wrong with either one. To help you narrow-down, here's my opinon: 1. Canon print fast; epson slow 2. Canon's ink a bit cheaper and epson uses more inks 3. Can use Hi glossy paper with canon but not with epson. You have to experiment with papers in order to get good print with epson (that's why you saw bad print-outs in tradeshow as most sales rep there are part-timers). Go check-out Ruby Photo, they have a 2100 as their workhorse, ask for a gloss print-out and you will know what I mean. 4. Canon have that "Wow" in your face type, vivid print-out with hi-gloss paper but a bit artificial looks (e.g. print-out of some tomatos which look different compare to what your eyes see in the real thing) 5. Fade-out? I don't know about that, epson use pigment ink and canon's dye ink however Canon new large format printers are now uses pigment ink http://www.canon.com.sg/index.cfm?fu...rod_type=w6200 6. Epson can take roll paper for panorama print and canon cannot do panoramic. Epson going to replace the 2100 with a new 8 inks and faster printer that can now print on Hi-glossy paper then your choice WILL be even harder. |
