AND: http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?t=100890 For SB800, I'll be selling for $600each as I need to cover for the air-tickets. More you should not just convert the HK$2480 directly, don't forget there is a conversion fees and the bank also will charge you extra if you use credit card. A safer conversion is to divided the HK price by 4.5 to convert it to Singapore dollars. ![]()

Who's want to sponsor me to Hong Kong. I know the place quite well. I have scouted more than 100 retailer shops in HK before, I know where to find good lobangs.
Some tips for those going to HK. HK is quite near to Singapore, only 3 hours 10 mins journey, better than going to KL to buy camera stuff. 5 hours to KL? So why bother to MO, just fly there yourself if you have the time and money. Try not to use Credit Card when you are making purchases. Most shops will charge you additional of 2-3%. And the exchange rate imposed by the Bank is really sucks. You can also use cash term as a bargaining tool when negotiating. Bring HK$ to HK. You will see the difference. Generally, if you are collectors of cameras, HK is a paradise for you. For example, Leica cameras are very cheap compared to locally. Take note for Nikon users, DX lenses are only marginally cheaper in HK compared to Singapore. You can actually go to Alan Photo to get a good deal if you find that it's a hassle to buy from overseas. For example, HK is selling the 12-24mm DX at around $1,500 vs $1600++ in Singapore. My friend bought it at CP for $1,600 a few months back. For Tamron lovers, you can also forget about it as the prices over there are quite steep or the same as locally. I believe that Kenghor aka MO King can testify that. Lastly, forget about shopping at those shops along Nathan Road. They are quite expensive. Of course if you know the bosses, then it's a different story. Happy Shopping in Hong Kong for those who are going there. ![]() |
