Thread: Long exposure during sunrise

  1. #1

    Default Long exposure during sunrise

I wonder if anybody have tried this before

Using a 10 stop during sunrise can cause exposure as long as 30mins

I wonder if anybody have tried this before??
Can the battery actually last this long??

battery can, but are you willing to put up with the big bright line in your image? (as the sun rises....)

And 30 minutes with just a 10-stop? Maybe just before sunrise, but not sure once that bright ball of fire is up. Best to try. :P

Actually I'm referring to the timing where the sun has barely rise
My last experience is that at 645 the exposure is still abt 2" at f8
I'm thinking maybe can try but not too sure
Just gotta try maybe w the camera facing the sun directly

the exposure changes rapidly during sunrise, the exposure range can be 5 stops or more depends on the condition, what you intend to achieve anyway?

You *do* know that metering taken at one point before sunrise will be TOTALLY different once the sun actually rises, right?

I have taken sunrise picture before

I am just wondering if it's possible to do a 30mins exposure without overexposure

I am making a guess here.... err... you want to smooth the choppy water and the 10-stop filter is the only filter you have?

You do know what a magnifying glass does to matchsticks. Now, replace the match with your sensor.

    30min should be about right.

    QFT...

Besides for sunrise, 30mins is quite a rising movement for the sunrise.

Maybe a pinhole camera would do the trick of getting such a long exposure?
